Gold Star Wives of America, Inc. is a non-profit 501(C)4 national military widows service organization chartered by the United States Congress. Donations are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes but may be deductible as trade or business expenses. How to Support Gold Star WivesThank you for your interest in supporting our organization. You may make a general donation to support the overall organization, as determined by our all-volunteer Board of Directors. Corporate Sponsorship:Corporate Sponsors will be linked on our home page, and have an opportunity to have their own member web page where our members will visit to find out more about your services. You may also decide to sponsor our meetings held throughout the year such as National Convention, Congressional Reception, or our web initiatives. Many of our sponsors use our links and printing in our programs as deductible advertising expenses. Corporate sponsors may also include product donations to be used at our events. Corporate sponsors are reviewed and approved by the Board of Directors. There is no minimum level for corporate sponsorship. If your company has a specific donation amount or purpose in mind, just let us know. Otherwise corporate donations will be used as directed by the Board of Directors. Corporate Sponsors will receive an email copy of our newsletter, and invitations to our events. Interested corporate sponsors should email our administrative office at sponsors@goldstarwives.org. We are always looking for corporate sponsors and we thank you in advance for your interest in our organization. Become a Sponsor Individuals:You represent what is great about the American public. You see a need and are ready to fill it. There is no minimum donation amount, however we do pay a small processing fee to take online donations. All donations are welcome. Here are some of the ways that we use your donations:Convention Support:GSW holds an annual convention to bring together our members from as many of the chapters across the country as possible. This is the one time of year where volunteers can gather to discuss their issues, share ideas, and plan the direction for the next year. Again, to keep a registration fee as low as possible we need both corporate sponsors and donations to support our convention. If you are interested in being a corporate sponsor, please contact our office at sponsors@goldstarwives.org or call 1-888-751-6350. Individual donations are also encouraged. Government Relations Committee:The Government Relations Committee (GRC) is our all-volunteer committee that meets with our Congressional, military and veterans leaders to track legislation, educate Congress, and inform our members about legislation that affects them. Donations may be used for getting members to DC to testify, for example. Stay-at-Home Tea:The Stay-at-Home Tea is GSW’s fundraiser that has been held for many years. Members – on Valentine’s Day, February 14th, are asked to invite some friends and neighbors, brew a pot of tea, and consider making a contribution to the organization. Funds raised from this event support our overall efforts. In addition, a percentage of these funds are given to worthy veterans and military causes that may be brought up at Convention for consideration from the membership. We honor and remember our lost loves during this fund raising event held annually on Valentine’s Day.
