Taylor is the widow of Army Maj. Brent Taylor, who was killed in Afghanistan by a member of the Afghan security forces in 2018. The National Guard officer was on his fourth year-long tour when he was cut down. 

Jennie is raising seven children, ages 2 through 14, complicated now by quarantine. "I'm only half-joking when I say I'm one small step away from really crazy," she said.

CNN published an article They didn't die in combat, but they lived heroic lives. Remembering the military heroes who died by suicide that gives important coverage to this issue that impacts so many Gold Star Wives.  Sabine Ward, an active member of Gold Star Wives, is interviewed in this article.

Gold Star Wives sends volunteers to help Snowball Express each year, including 2019 which was covered by an article in The West News. Excerpt: 

Thanks to Gary Sinise, over 1000 children of the fallen soldiers got to visit the Walt Disney World this week. Gary is well known for his philanthropy work and his film Forrest Gump. Gary’s foundation took over 1000 children of the military heroes with their loved ones to Walt Disney World. The Gary Sinise Foundation started a noble program called Snowball Express, in this, they create magical experiences for the children who need it the most.
